Now I need to confess something before you go any further.

Before Honest Empires aspired to become a leader in the social enterprise world...

I had started the company for a selfish reason.

I’ll tell you why in a minute…

In 2012 I quit a high-paying sales job and started my marketing agency.

I didn’t start it because I loved marketing.

I started it because I wanted to travel and happened to be good at marketing.

So for the past 4 years, I’ve traveled the world.

Staying in different places a few months at a time.

Life has been good. Money is coming in. Clients are happy.

But it’s always felt empty.

Like something was missing from the equation.

I couldn’t put my finger on it, until now…

I hate marketing.

I fucking hate it.

It’s soulless. It’s greedy. It’s full of shit.

No matter how hard I try to incorporate some humanity in my work.

It always seems to revolve around dollars and cents. Not people.

The problem is, I actually care about people.

My clients don’t hire me because I’m the best marketer in the world.

They hire me because I understand them, their business, their customers.

And come up with marketing plans that actually feel good!

And luckily when something feels good, it usually makes money too.

But enough is enough…

I can’t keep investing into a business that is DIS-honest with who I am.

Remember the 3 pillars of an Honest Empire?

1) It helps you accomplish your life goals

2) It allows you to grow into your ideal self

3) It gives you a sense of contribution

Well, my business checked off number 1, pretty well.

But numbers 2 and 3 were only covered superficially.

Honest Empires is my selfish attempt to take back control of what matters most in my life.

And my goal is to help you do the same.

I sincerely enjoy talking about business, sales, marketing, strategy…

I’m good at it.

But I only enjoy talking when it’s helping someone achieve an honest goal.

This means “you’re not only in it for the $$$$”

Don’t get me wrong, making money is totally okay.

But there needs to be another reason.

So…
